Malaphor

I’m ever so pleased to note that there is a term for phrases like “he’s barking up the wrong blind alley” and “now that’s a kettle of fish of a different color”. The term is malaphor, I find it thanks to Douglas Hofstadter (re-reading GEB, hoping to glean a little more – the more I learn, the more I can learn from this book!), it is due to Lawrence Harrison, a journalist.

That is all.
